Questions we get asked.
Mostly by business owners who have been sold loyalty software before and want to know what the catch is.
- Do my customers need to download an app?
- No. They scan your QR code, the page opens in their browser, and the card goes straight into Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. There is no app, and there never will be one for customers.
- What if a customer does not use a wallet app?
- They can bookmark their card page instead. It shows the same QR code and the same balance, and works in any browser.
- What do my staff need?
- A phone or tablet with a camera and a browser. They sign in, point the camera at the customer’s card, and confirm. Nothing to install.
- What happens if the same card gets scanned twice by accident?
- Nothing. Every scan carries a one-time key, so a repeated request returns the original result instead of awarding a second stamp. A shaky connection cannot cost you a free coffee.
- Can a member of staff give themselves points?
- Anything they do is written to a permanent record with their name on it. Managers and owners can see it, and corrections are recorded as corrections rather than quietly overwriting history.
- Can I change the programme after launch?
- Yes — rewards, thresholds and colours can all change. Existing balances are unaffected, because they live in a transaction history rather than in the settings.
- What happens to my data if I leave?
- You can export your customers and their history at any time. If a customer asks to be deleted, you can erase them entirely, which is what UK GDPR requires.
- Do you sell or share customer data?
- No. A customer of your business is your customer. We do not market to them and we do not use their data across other businesses on the platform.
- Can I use my own domain?
- Not yet. Every business gets yourshop.loyalti.io today, and custom domains are planned — the platform is already built for it.
- What if I have more than one shop?
- Add each as a location, assign staff to it, and see how each performs. One programme across all of them, or separate ones — both are supported.
